The Borough Of Northampton

With a rich History dating from 1740, when Hugh Wilson's Settlement was established, Northampton has gracefully evolved and grown into the Borough of today.  What was once the land of the Lenni Lenape was later developed by Irish settlers farming the rich soil.  The story of the region continued through the expansion of settlements and the formation of hamlets with names like Laubachville, Siegfried, Newport and Stemton to their consolidation in 1902 into the Borough of Alliance.  In 1909, the area finally became Northampton, and its story continues to write itself today.  (Courtesy of Tony Pristash)
